Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
