Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
