Expedition 33 Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the top winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's success, the talented actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by critics.
